Haiku-a-day
Two deer at the edge of a creek at the base of a old willow tree on a cloudy September morning.

Symbolic to me —
but just deer living their lives,
seasons changing fast.

Haiku-a-day
An old nest built in a gnarled willow tree trunk.

A nest in the knot,
perfectly rounded and shaped,
birds fledged and flying.

Haiku-a-day
A willow sprouting new leaves in spring next to a century-old building in a small town.

How does a place die?
the same way that it lives: change,
rain, sun, memory.
