Haiku-a-day
The silhouette of tall tree branches against a sky in October dusk.

A hope for better —
friendship, neighborliness, joy —
these connected things.

Inspired by the words of Barack Obama, October 24, 2026, Detroit, Michigan,

Haiku-a-day
The beach of Lake Huron after sunset with a faint heart planting of scrubby sea grass.

Nighthawk at the beach
hidden in the scrubby trees,
singing to last light.

Haiku-a-day

Leaving the day here,
we walk off into the night,
free Robins singing.
